The American Refugee Committee (ARC) works with its partners and constituencies to provide opportunities and expertise to refugees, displaced people and host communities – to better survive conflicts and crisis, and to rebuild lives of dignity, health, security and self-sufficiency. ARC presently works in and with partners in ten countries globally. ARC has been operational in Uganda since 1994, and today has a strong and committed team of over 130 regular, full time national staff and partners. The overall goal of the Uganda program is to improve the well-being and self-reliance of the displaced refugee populations by ensuring the provision of basic services (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene; Community Services; SGBV/Protection; Child protection; Mental Health & Psychosocial support), currently in six refugee settlements - Nakivale, Oruchinga, Kyaaka II, Kyagwali, Bidi Bidi and Palabek - in Uganda. ARC is looking for competent, qualified, self-driven and committed individuals to be part of and contribute to accomplishing our ambitious and exciting 2018/2019 programming – several challenging full time positions, across the various refugee settlement sites as well as at the ARC main office – Kampala, Uganda:


Job Title: Field Operations Manager (1 position)
Reports to: Area Coordinator
Location: Bidi Bidi

Job Summary
The Field Operations Manager will be responsible for providing general operational oversight of procurement; transport / fleet; stores / ware housing; assets management and security of the field site in line with ARC Operations guidelines and mission.


Minimum qualifications

  • A university degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management or similar degree.
  • A post Graduate Diploma in Procurement or Supply Chain Management or CIPS is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the field of program and/or Logistics and Operations in an International relief organization.
  • Demonstrated experience/knowledge of Donor, GOU procurement policies and procedures is an added advantage.
