SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER
Job summary: Directly reports to the Head of Human Resource and will be responsible for overseeing all HR activities, managing HR information system, reporting and overseeing staff wellbeing and engagement.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Support staff recruitment, selection and exit processes: Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure vacant positions are filled in time and that exit procedures are in line with UGAFODE HR policy and country labor law. 
  • Oversee induction of new staff; prepare new staff contracts and plan orientation/induction programs. 
  • Facilitate all HR activities: Ensure that UGAFODE recruitment, induction, performance & exit policy are communicated to hiring managers and adhered to. 
  • HR policy interpretation and implementation: Provide support in implementing, and communicating personnel policies and procedures in accordance with the UGAFODE‘s goals, statutory requirements, and human resources policies 
  • Monitor staff performance management and professional development 
  • Oversee staff wellbeing and engagement: provide counselling support to staff as and when requested 
  • Exit management: Carry out staff exit meetings with separating staff and periodically analyze staff exit related information to guide retention initiatives. 
  • Reporting and accountability: Prepare and submit departmental reports and other briefs as and when required. 
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related discipline 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HR management preferably in a financial institution 
  • Demonstrated good knowledge of national employment law 
  • Experience in managing benefits and compensation systems 
  • Experience in planning and developing HR plans and policies and rolling out new HR initiatives 
  • Excellent negotiation skills 
  • Good presentation and facilitation skills for the dissemination of information 
  • Ability to balance the needs of staff and the organization
