lnterAid Uganda Limited (IAU) is a non-governmental humanitarian national organization established in 1988, duty registered with the NGO Board and NGO Forum. IAU is involved in programs geared towards the protection and improvement of lives of disadvantaged people living in urban and rural areas in Uganda. lnterAid Uganda is focused on its thematic areas of; Human Rights Protection, Education, Livelihood & Food Security, Health (HlV&A|DS; Malaria; Maternal and Reproductive Health), Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH), Environment and Disaster Management. In partnership with UNHCR the UN Refugee agency, lnterAid Uganda seeks to recruit suitable and qualified persons to fill the following positions based at the Head office and Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement on temporary basis.

Job Title: 2 Child Protection Officers
Report to: Senior Protection/ Community Service Officer
Duty Station: 1Position: Kampala, Head Office,1Position: Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement.
Contract Duration: 2 (Two Months). Renewable Subject to availability of funds and performance.

Role Summary
To provide support in the implementation of programme activities to strengthen child protection, and promote Protection integration in coordination with other stakeholders and partners.

Person Specification

  • The ideal candidate for the position of Child Protection Officer, at lnterAid Uganda should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Law, Human Rights, Arts, Education, Social Work and Social Administration, Psychology, Child Development, Child Psychology, Community Psychology, or any equivalent accrued working experience in a related position
  • A minimum of five years’ relevant experience in programme development and implementation of child protection programs with an NGO.
  • Additional professional training in child protection will be an added advantage
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of child rights issues and child rights instruments.
  • Good communication skills, oral written and presentation,
  • Excellent computer skills e.g in MsWord, excel and power point.
  • People centred.
  • Good report writing skills
  • Ability to work under a multi-cultural environment.
