Established in 1988, the MRC/UVRI Uganda Research Unit on AIDS is an internationally recognize: center of excellence for research on HIV infection and related diseases, contributing knowledge on the evolving epidemic, the evaluation of innovative health care options, treatment and prevention, and the development of health policy and practice in Africa and worldwide. The Unit’s head offices are located at the Uganda Virus Research lnstitute- Entebbe Campus, and the main research activities in Masaka Kalungu, Kampala and Wakiso districts, including the peri-urban areas of Entebbe. The Unit is now seeking enthusiastic and experienced individuals to fill the following position:

Human Resource Officer

Reports to: Human Resource Manager
Duty station: Entebbe
Start date: As soon as possible

Contract Duration: Two Years (with possibilities of renewal depending on performance and availability of funds)

Job Purpose: To provide efficient and effective day today human resources support to the Unit through supporting the Managers, scientists, field station administrators and staff to ensure that their queries are addressed. The post holder will mainly handle HR Planning, recruitment and selection, orientation and induction, training, performance management, and any other areas as may be requested by supervisor
