Learn more at bantwana.org World Education inc. IBantwana (WEIIB) is implementing a five-year USAID funded BETTER OUTCOMES Project for Children and Youth in Eastern and Northern Uganda. The goat of the project is to improve the wellbeing of children and youth orphaned and made vulnerable by HIV and other adversities in Eastern and Northern Uganda. BETTER OUTCOMES is implemented by a consortium of five partners, namely: WEI/B as the prime partner; Mercy Corps, Uganda Women's Efforts to Save Orphans (UWESO), Youth Alive and Friends of Christ Revival (FOC-REV); each responsible for specific technical aspects of the project. The project is being implemented in 20 districts.

Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator
Reports to: Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist
Duty Station: Jinja, Uganda

Job Summary:
The Monitoring and Evaluation [M&E) Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining and implementing M&E work plans, processes and practices. She/he will be expected to conduct trainings and provide continuous guidance to program and CSO staff to ensure performance indicators and output, outcome data are prepared and collected appropriately in targeted geographic and results/thematic areas and to proactively identity key program themes! areas for analysis to facilitate learning

Major responsibilities:

  • Ensure Routine Monitoring Reporting (RMR) actions and ensure templates are appropriately used and Standard Operating Procedures are
  • Ensure remoting and evaluation systems arid tools. data collection, entry, cleaning and storage are accordingly implemented by Program staff, CSOs staff, Volunteers, Para social workers, and temporal staff among others
  • Proactively identity key program themselves areas for analysis and Learning.
  • Ensure program feedback loops so that project findings results in improve quality of management and implementation.
  • Ensure M&E indicators in Dl'0lECt databases match reporting requirements
  • Strengthen the capacity of the M&E Team under supervision by working the MEL leadership to identifying training opportunities and increasing the teams knowledge of M&E protocols and practice
  • Provide written contributions to weekly, quarterly and annual reports and project performance updates as needed
  • Assist in the development of MEL strategic documents as needed
  • Coordinate with other departments and regions to provide strong support to sub offices and CSOs
  • Manage, train and mentor M&E team of approximately to) staff Other duties as assigned

Qualification, Knowledge, Skills, Attributes and Abilities

  • University degree in a related field, Post graduate Training in M&E preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and good working knowledge of major databases and analytical program include MS access MS excel, STATA SPSS and Epi Data among others
  • A minimum ol’2 3 years’ experience in M&E for donor funded initiatives desired
  • Demonstrated experience in training on M&E systems and data collection
  • Demonstrated experience remote managing mentoring and training stat?
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure
