Pathfinder International ( PI ) is an international non- profit organization that is dedicated to supporting high-quality comprehensive reproductive health services. Pl Uganda office is implementing the USAID funded Integrated Systems Strengthening (/SS) for CHW (Community Health Worker) programming project, which aims to strengthen community health approaches to reduce barriers to effective primary health coverage in diverse systems as well as support National Policies and their implementation. The project emphasis is to make quality services available by means that can be scaled, through improved referrals and linkages across the continuum of both community mobilization and structural interventions approach.

We seek highly motivated, talented and hardworking Ugandan nationals for the following position:
Position: Project Officer
Reports: Project Director

Job Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the CHEW Project Director / Coordinator , the project officer will be responsible for providing day-to-day technical assistance and coordination with MOH, district health teams, partners and CHEWs in identifying technical needs, scheduling of activities, and monitoring, evaluation and learning of implementation of project activities. S/he will oversee CHEW activities including participating in MOH and partner meetings, training of CHEWs, documentation, quality data collection, report preparation, monitoring and supervision.
  • S/he will be PIU’s contact, establish linkages with MOH, district, facility levels and with partners for capacity building in RMNCAH technical areas.
  •  S/he will contribute to PIU technical capacity in RMNCAH work at National and district level under the supervision of the Project Director.
  • ln addition, s/he will develop, establish and maintains systems to collect and analyze information on inputs, outputs, outcomes and impacts of the project.
  •  S/he will conduct supportive supervisory visits to project stakeholders to obsen/e, monitor, guide, and provide feedback on the use of data and indicators; analyze monthly data, and support training of M&E CHEWs, Focal Persons and community in quality assurance methods.

Job Requirements:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, demography, statistics, health information management or related field.
  •  Familiarity with international indicators and standard measurement tools in health family planning, MNH, HIV/AIDS and other relevant technical areas. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • At least 5 years’ experience developing integrated health program activities and 3 years‘ experience implementing and supervising integrated HIV/FP/ RH/ASRH trainings and activities.
  • Demonstrated experience working with community resource teams such as CSAs, support groups of PLHIV, VHTs and community leaders and District Management and Administration teams.
  • Knowledgeable in data collection, analysis, and development of reports using data.
  •  Experience in use of data to inform decision making, planning, and performance monitoring. Able to work with various stakeholders including donors and local Government and partners.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills and ability to communicate to both expert and lay audiences.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and any local language is required.
  • Familiar with USAID reporting.
  • Based in Kampala with ability to travel within the country as when need arises.
