Kabale University was established as a not-for-profit Community Institution, owned by the kigezi region in 2002. It was granted a Charter-Certificate No ULCI-L008 dated 29th September, 2014.

The University was recently transformed from a Private Institution to 21 Public University pursuant to Statutory Instruments 2015 No 36 of 16th July 2015 under The Universities and other Tertiary Institutions Act 2001 (as amended).

The University now seeks to recruit a competent person for the POST OF UNIVERSITY BURSAR. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and interested candidates for this position. Applications should reach the Office of the University Secretary by 5:00 p.m. Thursday 8th June 2017.

Position: University Bursar
Salary Scale: M3
Responsible to: Vice Chancellor through the University Secretary
Responsible for: Deputy Bursar, Assistant Administrative Officer

Person Specification

• Should have a Master’s Degree in a business related course.
• A Bachelor‘s Degree in a business related course with Finance /Accounting option
•  Should have full professional accountancy qualification.
• Should be a Member of the Institute of certified Public accountants of Uganda (ICPAU).
•  Should have high integrity with excellent communication, leadership and people skills.
•  Should be computer literate, good working knowledge of standard office documentation software and with demonstrable knowledge and skills in computerized Financial Management systems and packages.
•  Should have the ability to initiate and institute internal controls to ensure prudent financial management proper utilization and accountability of the University’s resource.
• Should have at minimum often (10) years working experience in financial management of reputable organization, three (3) of which should have been at a senior management levels.
