lntraHealth International ( www.intrhealth.org ) is currently seeking candidates for a new USAID Activity. USAID Regional Health Integration to Enhance Sen/ices in Eastern Uganda (RHITES-E) will support the Government of Uganda (GoU) and key stakeholders to increase availability and utilization of high quality health services in 21 districts in Eastern Uganda and 2 in Karamoja. This will be done by strengthening health systems and improving the quality of, access to, and demand for health services with attention to equity and underserved populations. All positions are located in areas therein indicated.

Nutrition Technical Adviser (Mbale)
The Nutrition Technical Advisor will provide both strategic and technical direction to nutrition programming in the region with the exception of the two Karamoja districts of Moroto and Kotido; and will be responsible for the development and implementation of the RHITES-E facility and community based nutrition activities. The Advisor will liaise with the nutrition division of the Ministry of Health, District Nutrition Coordination Committees, District Health Teams and health facility in-charges/ facility nutrition focal persons in the supported districts to establish and/ or strengthen health facilities and community capacity for management of Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) and Severe Acute Malnutrition, as well as promotion of appropriate nutrition and WASH practices and behaviors.

Requirements: Postgraduate degree in nutrition, public health or related field. At least 7 years of demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring successful nutrition programs, managing malnutrition among vulnerable groups, and promoting behavioral change for prevention of malnutrition. Familiarity with USAID funded nutrition initiatives and the positive deviance methodology is an added advantage.
