Currently, Oxfam is implementing a humanitarian response to address the humanitarian needs of South Sudanese refugees hosted in West Nile sub—region. Oxfam’s areas of intervention include WASH, Emergency Food Security and Vulnerable Livelihoods (EFSVL), Gender and Protection. Oxfam works with local partners as a strategy for building humanitarian preparedness and response capacity within the organisations.

Oxfam is seeking to recruit qualified persons to join our dynamic, innovative and committed humanitarian response team. Some of these positions are for immediate placement while others are tor potential projects pending confirmation of funding.

Project Manager
To be based in Arua, the successful candidate will provide overall technical supervision and support to the project and manage the day-today implementation of project activities. Key aspects of this job shall involve coordinating assessment, planning and implementation of interventions in line with the Oxfam’s strategy in Uganda; coordinate technical assessments, design, and implementation of emergency response projects that are socially acceptable, environmental friendly, and economically viable; lead an integrated team to contribute towards planning and execution in order to provide clear objectives and establish indicators for monitoring and evaluation of the programme; to assist in drawing budgets. and to carryout budget monitoring and expenditure forecasting; identify and assess the current resources and capacity of national counterparts, humanitarian agencies and government authorities to meet priority response needs; to represent Oxfam in engagements with other NGO's, agencies and Government authorities in sector and general coordination structures; ensure technical and administrative coordination and relations with district authorities, OPM, UNHCR and other Agencies and stakeholders in Arua; ensure field representation of Oxfam to Government and partners, ensuring that the influencing role is kept high; recruit, train and supervise other response staff and ensure that all programmes take gender issues fully into account. This includes the introduction of mechanisms to enable women and men to participate in decision making around public health and livelihood issues.
