Our Client, Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited ( UEDCL ) is a limited liability company incorporated in Uganda under the Companies Act. UEDCL owns the 33KV and below voltage electricity distribution network and all the operational assets associated with the business currently leased to Umeme Ltd. The company monitors Umeme Ltd investment, generation and distribution of power in eight territories covering over 60 districts, operation of the pole plant, and execution of some rural electrification schemes on behalf of Government. UEDCL has hired Q-Sourcing Limited to recruit qualified, competent and highly motivated Ugandans for the following roles:

Job Position: Protection and Metering Engineering Officer.
Reports to: Chief Technical Services Officer

Job Purpose:
To ensure healthy and operational power system protection, end-user energy meters and Bulk Supply boundary energy meters.

Key Performance Areas:

• Keep register of all power line circuit breakers and protection relays therein.
• Set protection grading of all feeder auto-recloses.
• Develop maintenance programme all switchgears.
• Analysis load growths and plan for protection upgrades.
• Develop specifications for end-user and BS boundary check meters.
• Carry-out ore-installation meter testing.

Qualification and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from recognized University /College.
• At least three (3) years‘ experience in protection/metering section in a highly recognized power distribution or transmission company.
