ACODEV is a regional NGO that was founded in 2003 and runs integrated Community Development Programs in Public Health, Human Rights, OVC support, Livelihood and Grassroots Capacity Development programs including sub-granting for small grassroots organizations in East and now Southern Africa region.

With funding from USAID, ACODEV, in partnership with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) as the Prime, is implementing a S-year consortium Program: Sustainable Outcomes for Children and Youth (SOCY). The Program is designed to improve the health, nutrition, education and psychosocial wellbeing of orphaned and vulnerable children, as well as reduce abuse, exploitation and neglect among this population. It is expected to reach a minimum of 625,000 children and their caregivers within 101,500 households in 19 districts in central, south western and western Uganda. The program will improve outcomes for vulnerable children and youth by strengthening the systems that surround them; caregivers will have greater economic opportunities, which will increase their resilience and make them less susceptible to shocks; local government structures and C505 will be strengthened to provide services targeting the diverse needs of vulnerable children, and health and social service agencies will strengthen their coordination and referral systems to provide integrated care along the continuum of response.

SILC and Youth group formation are the key vehicles used to support the beneficiary groups. It is anticipated that for every household enrolled will have a minimum of one youth, making, approximately 100,000 Youth. 80% of these are expected to participate in SOCY Project activities. ACODEV provides Technical Assistance (TA) to the programs operations of consortium C505. It is against this background that ACODEV is looking for suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacancies below, to carryout vertical project activities, in the districts of: Central Region: Wakiso, Luwero & Hoima; Western Region: Kyenjojo, Kibaale, Sheema & Mitooma.

Reports to: Monitoring Evaluation Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Specialist

Key Roles and Job Requirements
The Talent development & Operations officer will guide and manage the overall provision of Human Resources services, and HR policy of ACODEV. He / She will also oversee the day to day operations management across programs; leading Recruiting and staffing process and records; Employee needs assessment, training and development; Spearheading ACODEV HR Policy review and development and review of the operations guidelines; Overseeing employee relations - teambuilding initiatives and Conflict management; Compensation and benefits administration where applicable; Participating in Senior management meetings; Conducting investigations on employee complaints or concerns and non-compliance issues; Presiding over disciplinary cases among staff in and outside of the work place; Leading ACODEV‘s compliance to all existing governmental labor laws and other legal provisions/ requirements; Designing, directing and managing Succession Planning, superior workforce development, key employee retention, organization development and change management.

Job Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or Organization Development; a minimum of 3 years of demonstrate leadership experience in Human Resources positions in a experience In Human Resources positions in a reputable NGO; excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Office applications; Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations, added advantage.
