Organization Overview
National Animal Genetics Resources Centre and Data Bank, a body corporate under the Ministry of Agriculture Animal industry and Fisheries its mandate is to take a leading role in establishing a comprehensive National Animal Breeding Programme in Uganda, wishes to recruit the following;

Job Title: Accountant (Revenue & Expenditure)

Overall Job Purpose
To perform general accounting duties involving tracking accountability, vouching for completeness, updating and maintaining books of accounts and, producing routine financial statements and reports

Age Limit: 30-55 Years

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Examines correctness of payment requests, completeness of documentation and certifies requisition or transactions for further processing. Verifies receipts, matches and undertakes on in reconciliation of invoices and local purchase orders for goods and services procured prior to effecting payments, compiles accountability returns, verifies and retires advance lodgers, Maintains primary financial records and up—to—date books of account, Prepares periodic reconciliations of financial statements and carries out monthly cash book reconciliations to bank statements, Verifies payroll change requests and reports to ensure correctness of computations, payments and deductions; certifies and follows-up approval and payment to beneficiaries, Any other, activities as assigned by the Supervisor

Basic Requirements

• An Honors Bachelors degree in Commerce, or Business Administration specializing in Accounting or a Bachelors degree with bias in accounting as an option obtained from a recognised awarding institution.
• Must have full professional qualification in Accounting such as CPA, ACCA, ACIS and CPE and must be accredited by ICPAU.
• Should be computer literate and Knowledge of Accounting packages such NAVISiON, IFMS or any accounting package used by government is desirable.
• Working experience of at least three (3) years as at Officer level in Government or equivalent level of experience performing Accounts work in a reputable organization
