Job Title: Livelihoods Officer-Arua Care Sub Office
Job Summary
Reporting to the Initiative Manager, the Livelihoods Officer is the lead in the area of livelihoods implementation in Omugo Camp, located in Arua, West Nile. Working closely with a local partner NGO, will advise on the selection of youth entrepreneurs from refugee and host communities for trainings and oversee mapping of marketable business skill and business opportunities, and conduct information, Education, and Communication (IEO) sessions within the community. The Livelihoods Officer will also effectively manage youth start-up grants, ensuring that gender sensitive and environmental friendly business proposals for financial and technical support are properly drafted, reviewed and supported to transform community youth ideas into successfully run, more self-reliant business. The Livelihoods officer will ensure that the approved work plan is properly implemented as agreed with the supervisor. The Livelihood Officer will ensure planning and preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly work plans and reports on field activities are properly drafted and timely submitted to the initiative Manager. S/he is responsible for writing and documenting case stories of lessons learnt. The Livelihoods Officer will maintain, monitor and update a gender and age disaggregated livelihood data system for use by CARE and other implementing partners. S/he will monitor business start-up grants and perform monthly spot-checks on established youth business Initiatives.
