National Animal Genetics Resources Centre and Data Bank, a body corporate under the Ministry of Agriculture Animal industry and Fisheries its mandate is to take a leading role in establishing a comprehensive National Animal Breeding Programme in Uganda, wishes to recruit the following;

Job Title: Nutritionist

Reporting To: Technicai Manager Production

Overall Job Purpose .
To oversee animal nutritional issues on all Centre Farms

Age Limit: 25-55 Years

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish nutritional needs of the different animals at 4 their various physiological stages, Test feeds/feed samples and feeding methods to learn /ascertain i and formulate what nourishes all animals and fish on i the ‘farm efficiently and economically to maximise growth, reproduction and health, Writes reports on breeding/feeding habits of all animals and fish on the farm, Minimises waste for environmental consideration through promoting adaptation of climate smart technologies, Undertake forage seed validation and multiplication at each production unit, Developed, designs and implement projects and programs i for production through improved nutrition, Coordinates forage establishment, improvement and maintenance, l Coordinating water harvesting, utilization and i distribution, Coordinating and undertake training and demonstration in feeds and feeding technologies for l Managers, Veterinarians and other workers, Ensuring Proficient resource utilization and management, and r Nutritional evaluation and careful use of local forages and non conventional feeds

Basic Requirements

• A degree in Agricultural Science or Veterinary Science.
• Postgraduate degree in Animal Nutrition is an added advantage. r
• Working experience of at least three (03) years in a r related field.
