Job details:
NARO Holding Ltd ( NHL )was established by the National Agricultural Research Council and incorporated in Uganda as a limited liability company. Its major objective is to avail NARO technologies to the general public on a sustainable basis. NHL wishes to fill the following vacant position.

Post: Seed Manager

Overall Responsibility: The successful applicant will report to the General Manager and head the Seed Unit. He or She will be responsible for planning, production and marketing of seed

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop seed production work plans and budgets
• Develop and coordinate crop plans for high quality early generation and certified seed.
•  In charge of all the seed production and processing activities
•  Maintain and manage seed processing facility
•  Develop a strategy for seed distribution and marketing
• Coordinate and backstop seed out growers.
• Work toward continuous improvement in seed recovery and productivity.
• Identity new highly demanded seed and ensure their production and supply
• Manage, supervise seed staff at various locations

Required Qualification, Experience and key competencies

• Minimum of Bachelors of Science degree in Agriculture, majoring in crop science or agricultural economics
• Post graduate training in seed processing is an added advantage
•  At least 3 years’ experience in the Seed industry
• Self—driven with ability to work with minimum supervision
• Excellent negotiations and communication skills including demonstrated ability of team-work.
• Computer literacy is a must
• Age: Should be between 30 to 55 years
