Job details: The National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) is established by the National Agricultural Research Act 2005 as a body corporate responsible for the coordination and oversight of all aspects of agricultural research in Uganda. The Director General invites suitably qualified Ugandans to apply for the following positions at NARO Secretariat, Entebbe. Job Title: SENIOR OUTREACH OFFICER 1 post
Reports to: Deputy Director General, Agricultural Technology Promotion
Salary Grade: UR 4
Job purpose: To ensure improved accessibility of NARO technologies by the intended users, and promotion of their utilization.
Minimum qualifications, experience and desired attributes.
- A Master's degree in agricultural extension, agricultural sciences or agribusiness from a recognized university, following a bachelor's degree in agricultural extension or agricultural sciences.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in designing and executing outreach activities.
- A demonstrable ability to develop and use appropriate outreach approaches.
- Working experience in repackaging research results or findings into appropriate information for different target audiences.
- Demonstrable skills in establishing, working with and strengthening multi-stakeholder platforms.
- Experience in conducting market analysis to guide technology generation and uptake
- Good report writing and communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work, and timely produce accurate results in an environment with multiple and challenging tasks to be handled simultaneously.
