The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is a limited liability company incorporated in Uganda under the Companies Act. UEDCL owns the 33KV and below voltage electricity distribution network and all the operational assets associated with the business currently leased to Umeme Ltd. UEDCL monitors Umeme Ltd's investment, distributes power in eight (8) territories covering over 60 Districts operates the pole plant at Lugogo, and executes some of the rural electrification schemes on behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Job Title: Technical Assistant
Number of positions: 05
Report: to: Amiaterit Manager
Department: Technical Services
Job Purpose: Responsible for all time availability of power supply in conformity with the company specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Carry out construction and maintenance of overhead lines, switch gear, transformers and underground cables in accordance with company standards
• Maintain daily records; organize line clearance and handle assigned system emergencies
• Carry out commercial survey for new connections and effect new connections and meter installations.
• Visit all Customers monthly, conduct Meter Audits and carry out disconnections and reconnections as per UEDCL Policy
• Devise quick means of identifying causes of power failures and rectify them
• Apply safety measures for self and subordinates, on all as signments in the course of duties at all times.
• Produce and submit monthly reports on faults and make prompt accountabilities
