We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position for an anticipated USAID Uganda Project “The Social and Behavior Change tor Transformation (SBCAT) Activity will aim to increase the ability of individuals, households, and communities to adopt priority behaviors that will result in improved health and development outcomes through social and behavior change (SEC) The focus will be on family planning and reproductive health, HlV/AlDS; malaria, nutrition maternal, neonatal, and child health; water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), emerging pandemic threats and other infectious diseases, and, to a certain extent other non-health development activities in education, economic growth, and democracy and governance, as the need arises." All position are contingent upon funder approval of key personnel and availability of funds

The Director of Capacity Strengthening will oversee capacity and institution strengthening tor the anticipated Social and Behavior Change tor Transformation (SBCAT) Project S/he will direct the provision of technical assistance support to public and private organizations in a number of technical areas. including SEC, institutional development, collaboration, and coordination with an array of partners (e.g government, nongovernmental) The Capacity Strengthening DireCt0rWl|l work under the oversight of the COP. This position is contingent upon funder approval oi key personnel and availability of funds He/she will provide leadership in capacity strengthening, including the design of strategies and tools to guide activities with the GOU, civil society partners, and US government partners

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree or its international equivalent in organizational development, public health, education, social science, or a related field
  • At least eight years of experience with progressively increasing responsibility in the design and management oi complex, large capacity and institution strengthening activities in Uganda or other similar environments involving multiple stakeholders
  • Strong understanding and previous experience working with, advising, and providing capacity strengthening to the Government of Uganda and Ugandan nongovernmental organizations, civil society organizations, and other local non—state organizations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of capacity strengthening methodologies at the system, organization, and individual level
  • Demonstrated strong technical, programming, and management skills. Professional training and experience with adult learning methods. training or facilitation, organizational capacity assessments, mapping, and planning
