We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position for an anticipated USAID Uganda Project “The Social and Behavior Change tor Transformation (SBCAT) Activity will aim to increase the ability of individuals, households, and communities to adopt priority behaviors that will result in improved health and development outcomes through social and behavior change (SEC) The focus will be on family planning and reproductive health, HlV/AlDS; malaria, nutrition maternal, neonatal, and child health; water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), emerging pandemic threats and other infectious diseases, and, to a certain extent other non-health development activities in education, economic growth, and democracy and governance, as the need arises." All position are contingent upon funder approval of key personnel and availability of funds

The Director oi MERL will work in close collaboration with the COP to ensure monitoring and evaluation (M&E), project collaboration, learning, and adapting (CLA), and research strategies are sound and support the results and goals of the anticipated Social and Behavior Change for Transformation (SBC4T) Proyect In collaboration with it/l&E and team members, s/he will monitor program results and be responsible for the duality and accuracy of technical results and reporting. The position will be based in Kampala Uganda and will report to the COP. Helshe will lead the design and implementation of the prolect’s M&E activities, including 1] the development of the prolects Activity M&E Plan, 2) development and monitoring olproject indicators, 3) implementation of baseline and ongoing monitoring studies, A) oversight ol data collection and analysis; 5) synthesis ot data and study outcome reports; and 6) duality assurance and auditing of data

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master‘s Degree in public health, demography, sociology. epidemiology, biostatistics, psychology, or a related field.
  • Seven years‘ senior-level experience in M&E and research related to large scale SBC programs
  • Experience working in one or more oi the following areas is required: FPIRH, MNCAH, HlV/AIDS, malaria. Experience working with or in sectors outside oi health preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of social and behavioral theory -Strong experience in use oi qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
  • Stmng experience in developing, implementing, and disseminating a learning agenda.
  • Demonstrated experience in target setting and reporting against USG health initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience and tamiliarity with behavioral sun/eillance surveys, research methodologies, qualitative and quantitative research methods, data analysis, sampling methods, and establishment of M&E systems in developing country contexts
  • Knowledge of USG Health initiatives and related reporting requirements and funding parameters
