JOB DETAILS:
REPORTS TO: PLANT MANAGER .

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Shall assess and implement maintenance requirements for all organization infrastructures
• Responsible for safe custody and management of company estates including Superstores, Nkumba Property , Mbarara, Gulu, lake Heights, Lubowa estates, senior staff residences, etc.
• Shall produce, interpret and analyze engineering drawing s and designs in different software and guide in setting out.
• Provide project implementation skills and techniques, assess resource demands and advise management accordingly.
• Control of construction resources including materials, labour, time, tools,
• Shall perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time by his supervisors.
• Implement safe working practices at the factory and Outlets
• Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
• Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures
• Review plans and specifications for construction/maintenance/repair of machinery or equipment to determine whether all safety requirements have been met and implement permit to work
• Report and review findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testing.
• Interview employees to obtain information about work environments and work-place incidents and conduct job safety observations
• Evaluate adequacy of actions taken to correct health inspection violations.
• Review employee safety programs to determine their adequacy
• Conduct or coordinate direct testing of air quality, noise, temperature, or radiation levels to verify compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Any other tasks as assigned by the manager
INTERFACES
HR Manager, Director (technical), Factory Manager, Outlet managers, Project managers, Production Managers, factory Engineers, Stores Controller, purchase Officer, Foremen and Store keeper-Construction 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor of Science/Engineering in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognized institution with 1(one) year hands on experience in a civil works and steel structures.
• Experience in machine foundation works is of paramount importance.
• Working experience in steel manufacturing industries is an added advantage.

• Good eyesight, hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity
• Good analytical and problem solving skills
• Good physical health, strength and stamina
• Ability to work alone and as a member of a team.
• Good verbal communication skills 

Job requirements
• Computer literacy in various Engineering software including AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, PROKEN, Micro soft project, etc.
• Should be well acquired with knowledge of construction materials testing and either implication.
• Should be able to produce, interpret and analyze engineering drawings and designs in different software and guide in setting out.
• Ability to work with minimum or no supervision under difficult conditions and pressure.
• Strong organizational and supervisory skills.
Safety
• Must be safety conscience (safety of persons and property)
• Use protective gears during execution of work, e.g. Gum boots, Overalls, clear goggles, nose mask and Gloves.

Knowledge/Qualifications/Experience
• Bachelors’ degree in Industrial Chemistry
• Post graduate qualification in Health and Safety is an added advantage
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
