Malaria Consortium has received funds from DFID 3 through UNICEF to implement a project code named Strengthening Uganda's Response to Malaria (SURM) in 26 districts in Mid-North (Apac, Oyam, Kole, Kitgum, Gulu,lAgago, Nwoya, Lamwo, Pader,§ Amuru, Omoro; Utuke, Alehtong, Dokolo, Amolatar and Kaberamaido) and 9 districts in Karamoia (Kabnong, Kutitlo, Abim, Moroto, Napak, Nabilatuk, Nakapiripirit, Amudat and Karenga).
The project is being implemented for a period of five years from 2018 to Nov 2022, will use a mix of specific malaria and childhood illness control interventions as well as health systems strengthening interventions at community, Health facility and district levels.
Malaria Consortium is one of the world's leading non- profit organizations specializing in the comprehensive prevention, control and treatment of malaria and other communicable diseases among vulnerable and under privileged populations. We increasingly find our work on malaria can be effectively integrated with other similar public health interventions for greater impact and therefore expanded our remit to include child health and neglected tropical disease interventions
