UNDP Uganda has been selected as one of the 60 Country Offices to benefit from the global network of Accelerator Labs. The lab is one of the "next generation UNDP" initiatives designed to strengthen cutting-edgethinking in development, through identifying, building on, and investing in local solutions. lt is part of UNDP's engagements to step up efforts to explore more agile, innovative, and responsive approaches to development challenges.
The UNDP Uganda Accelerator lab will articulate frontier challenges; map and assess the efficacy of available solutions; and source potential solutions locally and globally. UNDP intends to reinforce: commitment to supporting government, through investment to better tackle the most critical and challenging risks facing the country; the capability to learn about what works and what doesn't in an uncertain policy space in weeks or months rather than years; and augmentation of existing capabilities through the application of cutting-edge approaches to addressing social, economic and environmental challenges.
