AIDS Healthcare foundation (AHF) is an International not for profit NOO, with its Headquarter based in Los Angeles, California. AIDS Healthcare Foundation in registered in Uganda as AIDS Healthcare Foundation Uganda Cares (AHF-Uganda Cares) which is collaboration between the Uganda Ministry of Health and AIDS Healthcare Foundation (U.S.A) to provide free HIV and AIDS services; including antiretroviral therapy in resource constrained settings.
AHF - Uganda Cares to date operates in 23 districts including; Masaka, Kampala, Rakai, Kyotera, Lyantonde, Soroti, Lwengo, Luweero, Bukomansimbi, Kalungu, Kalangala, Masindi, Amuria, Butambala, Gomba, Nakasongola, Nakaseke, Buikwe, Ntungamo, Tororo, Kapelebyong, Gulu, Busia and supports 52 clinic sites country wide. The organization now seeks to hire highly competent, dynamic and experienced persons to fill the position below.
Pharmacy Technician
The position is based at Dr. Charles Farthing Memorial Clinic - Kampala. This position ensures provision of a high quality dispensing services to all clients at the facility carry out a supervisory role (under the guidance of the program pharmacist), ensure a timely accurate and efficient dispensing service, serve and advise patients at the prescribing desk and on the telephone, help to achieve prescribing targets within the team and ensure patient data is accurate. .
The holders of this position will perform among others the following duties
• Assist and monitor in the issuing of pharmaceutical stacks/products and assist is issuing prescribed items.
• Prepare documentation, materials, components and other items for the preparation of aseptic products including assembly of prescribed items.
• Receive prescriptions from individual clients including clinicians and dispense the prescribed medicines accordingly
• Ensure routine pharmaceutical stock update including making periodic timely drug orders to the relevant authorities.
• Be able to collaborate with other internal and external health professionals including the allied bodies.
• Full knowledge of the law and regulations pertaining to dispensing: ensure accurate dispensing of prescribed medications.
• Undertake an in-process accuracy check of assembled prescribed items prior to the final accuracy check (stock inventory)

Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum of Diploma in Pharmacy Technology from a recognized Institution or its equivalent.
• Must be registered by the pharmaceutical society of Uganda or its equivalent; If trained and practicing
• outside the country.
• Minimum of 3 years working experience of which two must be in HIV related field
• Additional qualification in HIV and AIDS counselling will be an added advantage
