BACKGROUND:
Food for the Hungry (FH/U) is a Christian international relief and development organization that has been working in Uganda since 1989. FH is currently operating programs in 26 countries and has national offices on the UK, Canada, Switzerland, Sweden, United States of America and Japan. FH’s primary goal is to respond to development needs and complex humanitarian emergencies. In Uganda, FH is operational in the communities of Adjumani, Kitgum, Lamwo, Kole, Kween, Mbale, Namutumba and Amudat Districts implementing programs in four main sectors of Education; Food Security and Livelihoods; Health/Nutrition and Disaster Risk Reduction; with the Head Office located in Kampala.
FH/Uganda FH Uganda is actively seeking for qualified candidates who are committed to its Heartbeat and Corporate Strategy to fill the career opening of;
1. Job Title: Program Area Manager (1 Position)
Position Type: Fixed Term
Location: Mbale
Reports to: Regional Area Manager
Contract Length: 2 years Renewable upon performance
Start Date: October 2019
Job Summary:
The Program Area Manager comprehensively manages and coordinates the (technical human, administrative and financial) development, design, planning, implementation and evaluation of the Child Focused Community Transformation (CFCT) implementation plan in the area, ensuring the integration of all sectors and the transformational development of churches, leaders and families.. .

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Program development and management in the area
• Program Monitoring and Evaluation
• Liaison with Donor, Local Government Agencies, local NGOs and Religious Organizations
• Program Administration/Finance
• Personnel Management

Qualification/Requirements:
• University degree in Social Works and Social Administration, Agriculture, Project Planning & Management, Business Administration or other related disciplines in humanities
• A postgraduate in project planning and management from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of 6 years practical field experience, working with communities and children
