The Roles
Oxfam in Uganda is looking for competent persons to join our dynamic, innovative and committed team in the following position:
Position: Project Accountant - KFW (1 position, Fixed term based in Arua)
The Project Accountant's primary responsibility is to manage financial data processing and generate financial reports of the KFW project in accordance with the Oxfam financial manual and generally accepted accounting principles using the accounting package. Other responsibilities include cash and bank management. S/he reports to the Project Manager with a matrix line to the Finance and Operations Manager, and supervises the Finance Officer.
Job Specifications
A Bachelors of Commerce Degree (B.COM) or Business Administration (BBA) majoring in Accounting plus a professional accounting qualification (CPA or ACCA). At least 4 years’ experience in providing range of finance support services ideally in the INGO. Ability to analyze accounting process and identify practices and procedures that require correction or modification. High level of initiative and ability to formulate recommendations to improve accounting systems. Good team player and builder. Ability to understand Oxfam as an organization and its operations, and be familiar with Oxfam's programmes policies and procedures. Familiarity with Microsoft Oifice packages such as Word and Excel, Good communication and interpersonal skills.
