AIRD is seeking for qualified personnel for the position listed below
6. Job Title: Senior Program Officer
Location: Kampala and Field Offices
Report to: Program Manager
Responsible for:
Providing support in monitoring and evaluating ongoing projects in the field.
Job Summary:
Supporting the Program Manager in ensuring timely and effective management and implementation of AIRD/UNHCR'S humanitarian programme, ensuring efficiency, quality, impact and accountability, while upholding the core values of AIRD. .

Detail Responsibilities:
• Participate in the strategic design of AIRD'S resilience and emergency programming
• Participate in the development and implementation of the Country Strategic Plan
• Participate in Management Team decision making as needed.
• In collaboration with the senior staff and partner staff, develop winning concept notes, proposals and programmes in order to secure more funding.
• Support the program manager in taking the lead in the collection of funding information and identification of potential donors and funding organizations.
• Compile and maintain a database of local and international donors.
• Assist the program Manager in consistently monitor donors' websites and new calls for proposals.
• Inform the partners and the staff about suitable calls for proposals in relation to ongoing activities of the organization and its set goals and plan with the team and partner to submit applications.
• Assist the Program Manager in coordination with the partners, take the lead in the development of fundraising strategies.
• Coordinating assigned AIRD program activities.
• Preparation of Project work plans and follow up executions in the field.
• Participate in preparation of project Budgets & negotiations with funding organizations.
• Preparing & analyzing Project Proposals.
• Support the Program Manager to ensure that routine and extraordinary Reports are prepared and submitted in time to the office & UNHCR as required.
• Participation in preparation of Country Operations Plan reports
• In cooperation with Admin/Finance office, ensuring expenditures are for the intended purposes in the project documents only and are within the allocated budgets.
• Assist the Program Manager to mobilize and undertake rapid assessments, and recommends actions to address priority needs
• Participate in stakeholder coordination meetings, and represent AIRD in the humanitarian sector.
• Provide regular internal reports according to AIRD'S internal reporting structure, and ensure that all donor reporting requirements (interim, final) are produced in a timely, accurate and well developed manner, in close cooperation with the AIRD partners and donors.
• The Senior Program also ensures that all information and experience during the implementation of the programmes is documented and stored appropriately.
• Based on experience from the field, the Senior Program Officer supports the Program Manager in the development of AIRD's programme He/she also ensures that cross-cutting agendas and principles of AIRD such as gender equality and non-discrimination are implemented in the AIRD/UNHCR project.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• High level of honesty and Integrity
• Attention to detail and accuracy Advanced computer skills in Ms Word, Excel, PowerPoint presentation, Creating forms, org charts, mail merges, labels, name tags, charts and graphs, pivot tables, presentations with animation and sound.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
• Willingness to work in any part of the country


Job Qualifications:
• A University Degree in Development studies, Social Sciences or any other related
• Degree 5-7 years of relevant program and/or administrative experience is required
• Excellent knowledge of Project Management and Support is required
• Experience in the use of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and knowledge of spread sheet and database packages
