JOB DETAILS:
Position & Grade: Utilities Technician
Reports to: Utilities Technical Supervisor
Summary Role:
The purpose of this role is to perform daily utilities operations, inspect all equipment and repair to ensure continued and safe operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensuring smooth operation of utilities equipment such as steam boilers, compressors, generators, chillers etc.
• Carrying out daily preventive maintenance inspections on all utility equipment on a daily basis and recording all operating parameters.
• Carrying out preventive maintenance on all equipment as per maintenance schedule.
• Carrying out emergency repair on utilities equipment to ensure continued production.
• Maintains operating logs, records and reports on all equipment; draws stock and materials for maintenance and repairs; measures and reports fuel levels to appropriate personnel.
• Complying with health, safety and environment policy while carrying out maintenance
activities.
• Coordinate with welding team and plumber to maintain and repair piping systems such as those for compressed air and steam.
• Coordinate with plumber to Install new pipelines for water, compressed air, or other liquids.
• Coordinate with plumber and welding team to modify pipelines, fixtures, and other plumbing materials if need arises.
• Ensuring proper utilization and storage of all equipment and tools.
• Coordinate with contractors, maintenance team, in repair of utilities equipment and installing new systems.
• Analysis’s utilities systems problems and identifies appropriate tools and materials for repair.
• Manage costs through focused improvement and innovations.
• Implement the Movit Eagle way by executing your duties in line with Quality, Speed, Cost, Safety and People in order to establish the basis for Effective Problem Solving, Continuous Improvement and Innovation; and
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as maybe assigned from time to time by the Supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
● The ideal candidate must hold minimum a national diploma or equivalent in mechanical engineering technology preferred.
● A minimum of two (2) years` relevant working experience preferably in a similar position in a busy working environment.
● A good background on refrigeration.
● Excellent Knowledge and skills on utilities equipment and their operations.
● Awareness on health, safety and environment standards.
● Should have quick Troubleshooting skills and result oriented.
● Should have basic knowledge in machine maintenance.
● Good listening skills and strong verbal communication.
● Mechanical and Technical Skills.
● Physical Stamina and Strength.
● Ability to work under pressure with minimum or no supervision.
● Ability to assess problems and develop solutions.
● Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills with a high demonstrable
level of integrity.
