War Child Holland is looking for a: Global Psychosocial Support Specialist
With extensive experience and skills in design, implementation and quality assurance
Your Challenge
In this role you are responsible for Design, Operationalization and Monitoring of Programme Quality Standards in Psychosocial Support thematic area, Quality Assurance and Competency Development and Learning. You work in close collaboration with organizational stakeholders to ensure quality psychosocial support programming and promote cross-organizational learning. This role involves regular travelling to country offices of War Child, its affiliates and elsewhere.
The Global Psychosocial Support Specialist is part of the Programme Quality Team within the International Programmes Department and reports to the Manager Programme Quality. This role can be carried out from one of War Child’s offices worldwide (by equal suitability, preference will be given to local applicants). .

Your responsibilities
• Lead standard setting in Psychosocial Support programming area
• Coordinates operationalization of programme strategy and programme quality framework
• Monitor the application/adherence to the programme strategy and programme quality framework
• Support countries/HO departments to apply and adhere to programme strategy and programme quality framework
• Ensure effective communication of global programmatic results
• Ensure implementation of Psychosocial Support thematic strategy in close collaboration with R&D and RH/CO thematic experts
• Ensure roll out of the Care System in close collaboration with R&D, RH/COs and other PQ technical specialists
• Facilitate strengthening of Psychosocial Support programmatic scope
• Provide effective technical support to RH/COs
• Support the Learning Manager in ensuring that essential technical learning elements are selected and incorporated into the organization’s learning map
• In collaboration with relevant experts develop learning content in relevant technical area
• In coordination with COs/RHs/HO departments facilitate/conduct/deliver relevant competency development initiatives for WHC staff or its affiliates
• Represent War Child and participate in global networks and bodies that are relevant to the achievement of War Child’s mission, and contribute to the implementation of their work plans.

Your Profile
• Master’s degree in Psychology or related field
• At least 5 years’ experience in psychosocial support programming, of which at least 4 years in a conflict/post-conflict setting
• Excellent understanding of PSS in emergency settings programming, standards and guidelines
• Excellent team player with strong facilitation and communication skills with ability to inspire collaborative work
• Experience in developing, methods, tools, approaches and delivering training
• Strong project management experience
• Knowledge and experience in Monitoring & Evaluation
• Good knowledge and understanding of children’s rights
• Fluency in English required; good working knowledge of Arabic, French or Spanish an asset
• Fully support War Child’s mandate and mission
• Available for 40 hours per week.

Our offer
If duty station is Amsterdam
• Salary range from €3263 to €4221 gross per month, based on 40 hours per week (the exact step determined by the years of your relevant working experience)
• 26 vacation days (based on 40 hours per week), plus 2 additional free days
• Vacation allowance of 8% of the annual salary
• A contributory pension scheme
• Laptop to work from any location and mobile phone contribution of €25 per month
• Possibility to follow training and/or courses and attend War Child’s events


If the duty station is one of WCH’s offices worldwide:
• Local contract with salary and secondary labour conditions based on the local salary scale and T&C
• Successful candidate must be eligible to work in the country.
