JOB DETAILS:
Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in either Social Work and Social Administration; or Social Sciences; or other related field, plus a Master’s Degree in either Gender; or Social Work and Social Administration; or Social Sciences; or any other related course from a recognized University or Institution.

Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of ten (10) years working experience five (5) of which should have been gained at Commissioner or Head of Department level in Government or from a reputable organization.

Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Executive Director for performing the following duties:-
• Planning, developing and monitoring the implementation of sustainable socio- economic strategy for gender and the youth including equity opportunities and programs and empowerment of with the adequate knowledge skills, resources for sustenance of self and families in the City.
• Developing, designing and evaluating the effectiveness of programs for raising awareness and empowerment of People-With- Disabilities and the Elderly.
• Developing and monitoring the implementation of Poverty Eradication / Alleviation Programs including the functional adult literacy, income generating projects / gainful employment opportunities, and diversification and marketing of the agriculture and fisheries.
• Planning and enforcing the Social and Labour Legislation to protect the working class and regulate the relations between the workers and their employers.
• Developing and monitoring the provision of appropriate legal measures for the protection of human rights of all City Citizens and provide legal-aid services to the under privileged where human rights have been violated and need protection.
• Managing the performance of staff under direct supervision in accordance with the Performance Management guidelines.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
