The National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda ( NUDIPU ) is an umbrella organization promoting the rights of Persons with disabilities in Uganda with the vision of having “A Just and Fair Society where Persons with Disabilities live a Prosperous and Digniied Life”.
We exist to advocate for the rights of Persons with Disabilities in a uniied voice for improved livelihoods. With funding from National Community Lottery Fund in conjunction with Aga Khan Foundation, NUDIPU is hereby seeking to recruit a competent and energetic Ugandans to ill the following position:
Job Tittle: Capacity Strengthening Officer Capacity, DPOs in Uganda.
Job Purpose
The position will provide support across the range of DPO capacity strengthening activities undertaken through the programme. A key focus will be ensuring that NUDIPU and the DPOs benefit optimally from the capacity strengthening initiative through identification (capacity assessments, due-diligence evaluations) and development and delivery of appropriate of solutions for their capacity needs..
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
• Conduct organizational capacity and due-diligence assessments with NUDIPU and the DPO.
• Support capacity building of NUDIPU members
• Work closely with selected implementing partners and similar programmes funded by the donor to ensure synergy.
• Ensure adequate capacity is built in various areas as determined through the organizational capacity and due-diligence assessments.
Qualifications.
• Masters or a related advanced degree in international development, organizational development, business or public management or a related area and with Hons degree in relevant humanities.
• A minimum of 5 years related experience in implementing technical and organizational capacity building programs.
• Ability to work collaboratively and constructively with community-based organizations that are at the front line of impact.
