JOB DETAILS:
Our client, Agriculture Business initiative (aBi), an entity devoted to private sector agribusiness development is seeking to recruit an exceptional and dynamic individual with a proven record of accomplishment to fill the position of Head of Finance in Uganda. The position holder will be responsible for provision of strategic leadership of the aBi finance function and ensuring sound financial reporting systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of finance strategies and support achievement of the organization strategy;
  
• Lead the development, rollout and monitoring of the organization budget and financial plans;
  
• Manage aBi’s financial resources according to best practice and in compliance with the
  Uganda legislation and aBi's Development Partner policies; 1
  
• Lead the preparation and presentation of financial reports;
  
• Strengthen the organization's financial capacity through improvement of financial processes, reporting and staff training;
  
• Champion the successful rollout and optimization of the Navision financial system;
  
• Lead the reconciliation of the organization‘s accounts; and
  
• Develop and enforce financial controls across the organization.
  

Personal Specifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; and a professional qualification (CPA, ACCA);
  
• 10 years’ progressive experiencein financial management in a medium to large sized donor funded or similar organization;
  
• Expertise in developing and implementing financial controls and processes; n
  
• Demonstrated experience in grant management;
  
• Extensive knowledge of international financial reporting standards and other accounting best practices;
  
• Comprehensive experience in budgeting and forecasting for business operations;
  
• Advanced experience in the use of the Navision financial system and excellent excel skills;
  
• Strong team management and development experience;
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  
• Excellent problem solving skills; and
  
• Self-drive and leadership skills.
