Pader-Abim Community Multi-purpose Electric Cooperative Society Limited ( PACMECS ) is an Electric Cooperative Society tomred and registered on the 18th July 2008 under the Cooperative Societies ACT CAP 112, by the Registrar of Cooperative Societies with Reg No: 8729IRCS and membership of 1,400 members who paid at least two shares as per the society's Bye-laws. The society was licensed to carry on the business ct concessionary electricity distribution and to provide access to reliable and affordable energy sources especially electricity to the underserved rural areas, small scale enterprises (SSEQ) and institutions in the districts of Pader and Abim. Currently the society distributes electricity to seven distrids of Pader, Agago, Abim, Kitgum, Lamwo, Omoro and Part of Lira Districts. The society has eight sub-offices for revenue and operational functions in these districts.


Job Position: Internal Auditor
Reports to: General Manager


Job summary
The internal Auditor will provide an assessment of the manner in which the organisation conducts its business and the extent to which it conforms to international best practices. Through this assessment, the internal Auditor is expected to provide advisory opinion on how the organisation can efiectively reduce risks, prevent fraud, improve internal controls, operate an effective governance system and effectively manage its assets. Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • You'll be responsible for creating, from scratch, an internal auditing system that detects and tracks mistakes in data, streamlines risk assessment, creates criteria for initiating audits and analyzes data for reasonable conclusions.
  • We are looking for an innovative, forward-thinking professional who doesn't mind digging into data and searching for potential loopholes and vulnerabilities.
  • Test the operation and design of existing financial controls
  • Maintain and cultivate a master inventory of our businesses policies, practices and processes
  • improve customer care by initiating improvements to the financial control and auditing process
  • Perform inquiries and testing as needed to identify and resolve vulnerabilities
  • Develop new audit programs to ensure adequate financial controls
  • Plan internal client meetings and oversee financial disclosures
  • Maire recommendations to financial management about software, policies and audit triggers to Create and update internal audit plan

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • A graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or related field; Full professional accounting qualifications such as Chartered Public Accounting (CPA), ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
  • Proven minimum of three years internal audit experience and sufficient exposure to the private finance for private business entities or international organisations
  • Good knowledge of computer skills and Quick book accounting software
  • Knowledge of accounting best practices and including reporting requirements of development partners
  • Developed skills in preparing annual internal Audit Plan indicating the scope and timeliness of each audit in the annual internal audit.
  • Proven abilities to prepare internal audit reports detailing the overall institutional performance against the annual plan and to carry out effective monitoring and intervention when necessary.
  • Strong organizational and ability to learn cooperative society standards
