Self Help Africa ( SHA ) is an International Non-Governmental Organization implementing rural development, sustainable food and livelihoods security programmes in nine countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. SHA‘s vision is an economically thriving and resilient rural Africa with a mission to support sustainable livelihoods for Uganda's smallholder farmers. SHA has been working in Uganda for close to 20 years. SHA urgently seeks to recruit suitable candidates to fill the following position:

Post: Programme Manager (Based In Kampala).

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Programmes, the Programme Manager (PM) will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of a new EC-funded project, "Striking; a Balance: Developing a green economy around Lake Bunyonyi", that will be implemented by a consortium consisting of Self Help Africa (SHA-Uganda), Kabale and Rubanda District Local Governments and African International Christian Ministries (AICM). The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the inclusive and low-carbon economic transformation of communities in the Lake Bunyonyi Basin, generating sustainable economic growth, increased employment, reduced poverty, improved nutrition, and the sustainable management of their environment.

Key areas of responsibilities include:

• Provide general coordination and oversight of the project activities
• Ensure that the program develops and meets its monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning commitments, as set out in Self Help Africa Strategy
• Manage, in the most efficient way, Project Resources (human and financial)
• Liaise, network and build relationships with other stakeholders and participate effectively in policy-making processes 
• Support the Country Management Team in the management of strategy processes
