Back ground
World Vision Uganda (WVU) is a Christian relief, development and advocacy non-government organisation dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. We currently work in 43 districts and have 48 Area Programmes implementing projects in health & nutrition, water, sanitation & hygiene (WASH), livelihoods & resilience, education and child protection. World Vision (WV) is committed to the protection of children and adult beneficiaries from exploitation and abuse and will not employ people whose background is not suitable for working with these beneficiaries. Due to expansion in scope of our programmes, we are now seeking for a qualified and passionate individual willing to share in our vision and join the team in the following role.
Report to: Consortium Manager

Purpose of the position:
To provide innovative professional support to enhance technical soundness and coherence of the EQUATE ECHO HIP funded Education project in Invepi, Rhino Camp and Parabek in West Nile Education programs and Projects with National Office strategy, World Vision education strategy, guidelines and standards as well as government of Uganda priorities.

Key Outputs/Responsibilities.
Strategy and Planning
• Lead and provide information and analyses towards the development of strategies for implementation of EQUATE Education in Emergencies programme in consultation with relevant government agencies, consortium members and partners
• Contribute substantial information and analyses to interdepartmental working groups on the education sector.
Project Management and Implementation
• Support the design/development of activity guideline to ensure that project implementation is done in line with the design and donor expectation
• Develop guidelines, tools and approaches for quality project implementation and monitor compliance and effective utilization
• Ensure compliance and alignment with ECHO HIP policies and guidelines by consortium members in the implementation of EQUATE
Knowledge management
• Lead in design and implementation of baseline, mid-term and final evaluations and ensure follow-up of recommendations to improve quality of education programming
• Ensure documentation of the project impact and learning and provide guidance for to improve design and implementation
• Lead in ensuring timely quality project reports to the donor
• Support the consortium manager to organise learning and reflection forums in collaboration with partners and stakeholders
External Engagement and Networking
• Lead and identify opportunities for EQUATE linkages and collaborations in the education in refugee response programme in general and the education in emergencies in particular and ensure effective representation in the relevant coordination meetings
• Develop case papers/policy briefs to drive WVU advocacy efforts on education in the technical working group meetings andto regularly interface with other subject matter specialists in the WVU Ministry priorities to foster integration the project with other ministry areas
Capacity building
• Identify technical capacity needs and organize capacity building activities for WVU staff and partners
• Support the project implementation team to build school and community based capacity in collaboration

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
• Masters Degree in Education, Social Sciences
• Proven experience of at least 10 years of managing Education programs with reputable institution, national or international NGO
• Good understanding of educationconcepts and issues in development context especially in Uganda Working knowledge of the logical framework approach to project design, monitoring and evaluation/ project cycle management
• Working knowledge of data analysis software such as SPSS, Ms Excel, stata
• Demonstrated experience and skill in research, analysis and report writing
• Strong facilitation and presentation skills with a passion for sharing knowledge
• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly to field sites

Other Competencies/Attributes:
• Computer literate
• Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
• Attend and participate/lead in daily devotions and weekly Chapel services.
• Perform other duties as required.

The Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is a Ugandan not-for-profit organization whose mission is to strengthen health systems in Africa, with strong emphasis on infectious diseases, through research and capacity development. IDI has six operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission: Prevention, Care and Treatment; Training, Research, Laboratory services (including the CAP-certified IDI Core Lab & Translational Lab), Global Health Security and Health System Strengthening.
In order to successfully, implement this, IDI is looking for a competent and experienced individual to fill the position below:

General summary:
Under the supervision of the Senior Training Operations Manager, with direction from Trainers, the Operations Officer will coordinate: logistical aspects related to the implementation of the training program and the living and transportation needs of the trainees and the safety, use and tracking of training equipment and resource materials. Additionally, the Operations officer will take on general office administrative and operations responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
1. Coordination of logistical aspects related to the implementation of training activities
• Avails course application forms to prospective applicants.
• Receives and archives training applications.
• Distribution of schedules and necessary training materials to trainers, trainees, and partner sites.
• Follows up on session scheduling and resource requirements with both trainers and partner organizations.
• Participates in preparation of payments to Trainers, participants and placement sites as directed.
• Conducts, Summates and archives course evaluations.
• Participates in the organization of training social events.
2. Living and transportation requirements for the training program
• Organizes and coordinates transportation for trainees and trainers.
• Helps in distribution of stipends and accommodation allowances to trainees.
• Escorts trainees to placement sites whenever necessary.
3. Equipment and resource materials
• Stores, and tracks training resources, including books, journals, video taped lectures, projectors and computers.
• Updates training room equipment inventories.
• Responsibility for the set up and put away of equipment.
• Orders for office and equipment supplies (toner, cartridge, stationery) from the store as needed.
• Tracks sign off of equipment by trainees and trainers.
• Communicates any equipment problems and damages to the Senior Training Operations Manager.
• Monitors the condition of training rooms and training equipment regularly.
• Responsibility for opening and locking of the lockable units for LCD, laptops, training and computer rooms and their general security.
• Keeps Keys for the training rooms and lockable LCD units.
4. Office administrative responsibilities
• Maintain a current inventory of office and training room supplies
• Regularly informs the Senior Training Operations Manager and Course Coordinators/trainers of required supplies
• Distribution of documents, letters to trainers and trainees as required.
• Coordinates courier drop off/pick up.
• Typing, printing and photocopying of documents as requested/required
• Ensure general cleanliness of the training rooms
5. Filing, Record-Keeping, Data management
• Timely enter all trainee’s information into MIST
• Work hand in hand with course coordinators to write training reports
• Distribution and archiving of documents as requested
• Maintain and regularly updates office filing system.
• Files documents as requested/required
• Prepare materials for trainees i.e. lecture CDs, session evaluations, name tags, participants registrations, classroom training directorates etc
• Support on follow up of alumni
• Perform other duties as necessary

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 University Degree in Social sciences, Business Administration, or Development studies.
 Must have experience having worked with a busy training institution providing operational support to training activities for at least one year.

Purpose of the AGFY Gender Equity Campaign
It is expected for between 20-30 AGFY to be part of the core design team to undertake a HCD process to engage with their diverse experiences and other evidence assets (for example a situational analysis and rapid gender assessment) to explore and converge on a narrow campaign focus around gender equity issues in their communities. From this, the AGFY with lead, in collaboration with a communications and other experts as needed (e.g. graphic designer) to design, test, and iterate campaign strategies and materials to launch the campaign in October 2022. By launch, it is expected for there to be approximately 100 AGFY across Moyo and Obongi who lead and champion the campaign with a local ‘inner circle’ of other AGFY, boys, men, and community allies. The campaign is central to enabling target communities to actively address deep-rooted socio-cultural norms that serve to maintain and exacerbate gender and social inequity, including AGFYs’ access to education.

Scope of Work
The team of HCD experts and coaches will be expected to:
• Lead the design and delivery of the HCD processes with 10 community and 10 school design teams including, but not limited to:
o Face-to-face workshops
o On-going support
Recognising it is NOT expected for all solutions to be successful (as is the nature of these processes) critical to this will be supporting these teams to embrace learning from ‘failure’, funnel solutions, and effectively collaborate across communities to distil approximately three high impact community and three school-based solutions.
• Co-design the ‘incubation strategy’ to enable the high potential solutions to be further tested across communities in Moyo and Obongi in 2023
• Lead the design and delivery of the HCD process with between 20-30 AGFY to identify a narrow campaign focus and design and test campaign strategies and materials to maximise impact of the campaign. This campaign should:
o Be AGFY led from the start to enable the campaign to enable AGFY to start owning the narrative around issues that affect them most
o While focused, enable diverse narratives to be expressed through the campaign to recognise the diverse realities of different AGFY and the communities they live
o Resonate with and allow inclusion of boys, men, and broader community allies and members
o Go beyond ‘raising awareness’ and be action orientated to impact on broader community attitudes and behaviours to initiate societal change
• It is NOT expected for this team to be communications experts, graphic designers, etc., rather to collaborate with additional experts AKF will engage as greater clarity on who these may be becomes clear.
• It is expected that the HCD processes engage AKF, WUSC, Windle, and CSO partners in the process to support these team members to develop their knowledge and understanding of HCD.

Expected Qualifications and Experience
• Clear and deep understanding of HCD
• Demonstrated examples of delivering HCD in low-resource settings that have enabled design teams to collaborate and design high potential solutions for social change
• Ability to deliver HCD processes in contexts with a high linguistic diversity
• Working with AGFY and similar social issues
• A demonstrated legacy of working for positive social change
• Experience in complex and crisis affected geographies is an advantage
