Call for Expression of Interest (EOI) tender at National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO)

The National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO) is an agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) with the mandate to coordinate and oversee all aspects of public-funded agricultural research in Uganda. Established as a body corporate by the National Agricultural Research Act of 2005, NARO comprises a Governing Council, a Secretariat and 16 Public Agricultural Research Institutes (PARIs) spread across the country.

NARO now invites expressions of interest (EOI) from private sector partners to commercialize and operate its state-of-the-art fish feed production facility located at Kajjansi, Wakiso District. The facility features both floating and sinking fish feed lines. NARO is offering a 7-year operational lease to a private sector partner who can:

• i. Efficiently manage and scale up production to meet local and regional market demand
• ii. Invest at least $95,000 to enhance operational efficiency
• iii. Promote research, innovation, and sustainability in feed production
• iv. Expand market access and distribution networks for high-quality, affordable animal and fish feed

Eligibility Requirements

Partners expressing interest must:

• i. Be a legally registered entity in Uganda
• ii. Have at least 3 years' experience in agribusiness, feed production, or related sectors
• iii. Demonstrate financial and technical capacity to manage and grow the facility
• iv. Commit to environmental sustainability and collaboration with NARO

Submission Requirements

Interested partners should submit their expression of interest, including:

• i. A detailed company profile.
• ii. Copies of company registration documents
• iii. Evidence of meeting all tax obligations
• iv. Evidence of previous experience in feed production or related sectors.
• v. A letter of intent demonstrating commitment to the partnership.
• vi. Relevant legal and regulatory compliance documents.
