Job Description

Mission/ Core purpose of the Job 

To manage and coordinate IT delivery demands, ensuring quality assurance and seamless integration with internal and external stakeholders, particularly in the context of MTN MoMo. 

The main responsibility for this function is to be in charge for forecasting, planning, and managing IT delivery demands.

Responsibilities

Main Job Functions:

  • Demand Management & Planning: 
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive demand forecast, aligning with business strategy and product roadmaps.
    • Prioritize and manage IT delivery requests, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely delivery.
    • Implement and utilize demand management tools and techniques for accurate forecasting and tracking.
    • Coordinate with product owners, business analysts, and development teams to gather requirements and translate them into actionable IT delivery plans.
  • Partner/Vendor Management & Integration: 
    • Facilitate the onboarding and integration of third-party vendors and IT partners, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Manage vendor relationships, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
    • Implement and manage secure API integrations and data exchange protocols, adhering to financial services security standards.
    • Oversee system integration testing and validation, ensuring seamless interoperability and data integrity.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance: 
    • Establish and enforce quality assurance processes and standards for IT delivery, including testing, validation, and documentation.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR, local financial regulations).
    • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks related to security, data privacy, and compliance.
    • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure code quality and rapid releases.
    • Manage and implement proper security controls and testing within the delivery process.
  • Incident & Problem Management: 
    • Manage and resolve IT delivery-related incidents and problems, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
    • Implement root cause analysis and implement preventative measures to improve system stability and reliability.
    • Maintain detailed incident and problem documentation.
  • Reporting & Communication: 
    • Develop and deliver regular reports on IT delivery performance, including demand forecasts, project status, and quality metrics.
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing clear and concise updates on IT delivery activities.
    • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture, integration specifications, and operational procedures.
    • Ensure proper communication of changes to all stake holders.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation: 
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the IT delivery team.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and agility.
    • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in Fintech and financial services.
    • Implement Agile and Develops best practices.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (SMART) 

  • Reduction in time-to-market for new IT delivery projects.
  • Achievement of SLA targets for vendor performance and system uptime.
  • Successful completion of regulatory compliance audits.
  • Improvement in customer satisfaction related to IT service delivery.
  • Reduction in the number of IT delivery-related incidents and problems.
  • Increased efficiency in partner onboarding and integration processes.
  • Consistent and accurate demand forecasting.
  • Increase in code quality and reduction of bugs postproduction release.
  • On time completion of IT delivery projects.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Project or Delivery management, preferably in the Fintech or financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of financial services industry regulations and compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR, local regulations).
  • Proven experience in managing third-party vendors and IT partners, including contract negotiation and performance monitoring.
  • Experience with API integrations, data security, and system integration testing.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.   
  • Ability to create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.   
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of information security best practices.
  • Experience in risk management.
