DUTIES:
- Managing qualitative data collection (focus group discussions and key informant interviews) which include designing data collection tools, training interviewers, debriefing interviewers so as to ensure consistency and quality across the team and checking transcriptions and translations;
- Undertaking qualitative data analysis, which includes ensuring that the team has training in both manual qualitative data coding and analysis, and appropriate or data software; undertaking feedback and discussion sessions with communities, helping to resolve coding disagreements;
- Contributing to desk review of laws and policies relevant to Social Science research;
- Contributing to communication messages for example radio and community meetings by using the findings from Social Science methodologies in order to help inform communication messages;
- Contributing to dissemination of findings by developing policy advocacy messages, contributing to manuscript development for publication, writing conference abstracts and presenting findings;
- Assisting in coordinating the day to day activities of running the study;
- Assisting the Senior Social Scientist in quantitative survey through quantitative survey design and data analysis relevant to Social Science, and triangulating across the quantitative survey, qualitative data and legal and policy collected;
- Contributing to staff development;
- Any other duties may be assigned from time to time.
