JOB DETAILS:
• Reports To: Technician Instrumentation
• Department: Sugar Factory
• Section/Project: Works Manager’s Office (Instrumentation)
• Supervises: None
Overall Purpose of the Job
1. Assist the Instrument Technician in preventive and breakdown maintenance.
2. Support the performance testing and corrective measures for field instruments.
3. Gain foundational knowledge in instrumentation and control systems specific to sugar, power generation, and distillery plants.
4. Perform additional tasks assigned by the line supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with Preventive Maintenance: Work closely with the Instrument Technician to ensure routine maintenance of instruments is performed to avoid malfunctions.
• Aid in Breakdown Maintenance: Support troubleshooting and repair tasks to restore system functionality during breakdowns.
• Participate in Performance Testing: Help with testing field instruments and implementing corrective measures as directed.
• Learning and Development: Acquire skills and knowledge in instrumentation and control systems relevant to sugar, power generation, and distillery plants.
• Ad hoc Duties: Undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Competencies
Educational Requirements
• Diploma in:
o Electrical Engineering
o Electronics Engineering
o Telecommunications
o Computer Science & Information Technology
o Instrumentation Engineering
• Must have good knowledge of computers.
Experience
• No prior experience required.
