Engineering Ministries International ( EMI )
EMI is a Christian non-profit made up of architects, engineers, surveyors, and construction managers. Since 1982, our worldwide mission is to develop people, design structures, and construct facilities which serve communities and the Church. Together, we are designing a world of hope.
Our vision is to see people restored by God and the world restored through design.
EMI Uganda exists to see the Ugandan Design and Construction Industry transformed and raised to a place of regional influence, infused with individuals committed to honouring God, developing others, serving their communities, and working collaboratively and across cultures to provide transformational design and construction solutions for East Africa.
About EMI Uganda
In mid-2003 a small team of three staff members moved with their families from the USA to establish an Engineering Ministries International office in Kampala, Uganda. Since then, the staff has grown nearly tenfold, incorporating a diverse team of design and construction professionals from Uganda and many other places. In 2015, the office relocated to Kajjansi Airfield to build and share facilities with Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF). This move has helped to further establish EMI Uganda’s design and construction programmes to bring greater impact to the region through onsite fabrication workshops, a research and development team, and other strategic partnerships.
