Our Mission

UpEnergy fights climate change and poverty while protecting local environments. We leverage carbon finance to develop products and retail networks that make cleaner technologies accessible to people in low-income countries. Since 2010, we have honed our local, customer-centric approach to build innovative, reliable, and scalable emissions reduction projects in tandem with our partners. Through its carbon-financed smart distribution platform, UpEnergy directly leverages the support of our carbon-buyer partners to improve livelihoods and generate high-quality emissions reductions that support the achievement of carbon neutrality goals.

UpEnergy brings aspirational products within reach of low-income customers. The products we sell save energy, protect forests, fight poverty, and improve health outcomes. Our product sales cut carbon emissions which we quantify and deliver to buyers of high-quality carbon credits. We focus on areas of high social and environmental impact as we build distribution networks and carbon reduction projects. UpEnergy’s East African SmartHome brand is known for quality, reliability, and the livelihood improvements it delivers. Our products benefit consumers and the local producers we partner with. Our team brings 30+ years of collective experience to the development of superior carbon emissions reduction projects that benefit people.

Energy Consultants in Exeter covering the South West and beyond

Up Energy was set up by Alistair Pilcher and Simon Uden to provide a specialist energy assessment company in the South West. Based in Exeter, we are ideally located to serve the region. Our main areas of work are Devon, Cornwall and Somerset however, we have worked across the country including frequent trips to London. We’ve worked in Bristol, Leeds, Manchester, Cardiff, Birmingham and as far east as Kings Lynn!

Up Energy are qualified Level 4 non-domestic energy assessors, which covers approximately 95% of commercial property within the UK from an EPC rating viewpoint. We undertook our training prior to the legislation coming into force and have carried out hundreds of assessments across a wide variety of buildings.

Since we formed Up Energy, we have gradually added further qualifications to enable us to offer additional energy efficiency services.
