Job Purpose
To support the operations and maintenance of the electrical distribution network within a designated area by assisting with routine inspections, fault resolution, safety enforcement, and customer service. The trainee will gain practical experience in power distribution systems and contribute to delivering reliable and efficient electricity services.
Impact
The trainee supports the area engineering team by contributing to improved power reliability, timely customer service, and adherence to safety and compliance standards. This position helps reduce outage times and enhances customer satisfaction while developing technical competence in network operations.
Key Result Areas
- Assist in inspecting, monitoring, and maintaining the electrical distribution network.
- Participate in resolving electrical faults and breakdowns under supervision.
- Support customer complaint resolution processes related to power outages and service reliability.
- Help enforce safety procedures during network maintenance and repair activities.
- Accompany Technical Assistants O&M/Connections during routine maintenance tasks to understand operational workflows.
- Assist in documenting faults, maintenance records, and inspection reports accurately.
- Participate in area safety audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Contribute to reporting on network performance and customer service delivery within the assigned area.
- Learn and support the use of tools and software for tracking service delivery and asset management.
- Attend training and mentorship sessions to enhance skills in distribution engineering and field service.
Expected Outputs
- Hands-on exposure to O&M activities within the power distribution network
- Timely participation in fault handling and preventive maintenance efforts
- Accurate and complete maintenance and service records
- Compliance with UEDCL safety procedures and customer service guidelines
- Enhanced knowledge and technical skills in distribution operations

Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Must Graduated within the last three (3) years
Experience
- No formal work experience required

- Basic understanding of electrical systems and distribution networks
- Willingness to learn and apply technical knowledge in the field
- Problem-solving mindset and strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills for team interaction and customer service
- Ability to work in outdoor and field-based environments
- Awareness of workplace safety and regulatory compliance
