JOB DETAILS:
Angal St. Luke is a PNFP Hospital owned by Nebbi Catholic Diocese and located in Nebbi District, Padyere County, Nyaravur Sub County. It is 3.5 Km off Pakwach-Arua Highway on the road to Parombo Town Board. Angal St. Luke Hospital was founded in the 1940’s and has steadily evolved to provide preventive, promotive, curative and palliative services expected of a general hospital. It serves as one of the general referral health facilities in the district, often times the main referral facility for Padyere Health Sub-District and Nebbi District at large.

Reports to: Medical Director
Job Purpose: The Medical Officer is responsible for the care of patients admitted to the and he has been assigned to;

KEY OUTPUT AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Participating in diagnosis, treatment and proper management of patients.
2. Prescription of suitable pharmacological and other treatment for the diagnosed conditions according to the clinical guidelines, acceptable treatment schedules and procedures; direct administration of treatment when required.
3. Regular follow up of patients conditions and disease evaluation in order to ascertained the need for a new assessment of change of treatment.
4. Recognition of all conditions requiring expert care and /or advice of a senior colleagues and prompt consultation with him/her and other resources carried out.
5. Work with other cadres in the delivery of quality health care to patients
6. Ensuring that staff adheres to the Professional Code of Conduct and Ethics.
7. Supervise, and appraise staff performance.
8. Promoting public health practices in the community
9. Participating in continued professional development
10. The above list is not exhaustive

Required qualification/specifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution
2. Must be registered and licensed with Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners
Council.
3. Must have a valid practicing license

Experience
Evidence of 6 months’ experience or more in a reputable health institution is an added advantage.
Competences/Skills
I. Planning, organizing and coordinating, interpersonal relationship communication,
Ethics and integrity, time management, team player, information management, accountability, report writing and leadership
