JOB DETAILS:
The Government of Uganda (GoU) has received a loan from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the OPEC Fund for In-ternational Development (OFID) towards financing a Seven-year National Oil Seeds Project (NOSP).
The Project is being implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) as the Lead Project Agency, in partnership with the Ministry of Local Government(MoLG). The Project will be implemented in six area-based hubs of West Nile, Gulu, Lira, Karamoja, East and Mid-Western Uganda
The project goal of the NOSP is: "Inclusive rural transformation through sustainable development of the oilseeds sector, while the Programme Development Objective is "to accelerate commercialisation in key oilseeds value chains and thereby improve the livelihoods and resilience of the smallholders
engaged in oilseed production and marketing".
According to the Financing Agreement with IFAD, MOLG is expected to set up a Project Implementation Coordination Team) (PICT) for the day-to-day management and implementation of the NOSP
The MOLG is now inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced Ugandans to apply for the position of Drivers, existing in the National Oil Seeds Project PICT.
Main Duties:
The main duties of the Driver will be to assist the Office Administrator on the following activities
• Reviewing mileage on cars to ensure cost effectiveness in fuel consumption and maintenance as per the GOU regulations, Communicate all vehicle service needs and repairs to the immediate supervisor
• Ensuring that mileage readings are properly recorded together with the purpose of the intended trip in the vehicle log book,
• Ensuring the vehicle is kept in good running condition and cleaned regularly,
• Initiate the process of requesting booking the vehicle for service,
• Keep safely all fuels and lubricants receipts and records for easy accountability.
• Ensuring that the vehicle is parked in the designated parking while not on duty and not used for personal business.
• Together with the Office Secretary, deliver and receive office documents
Specific qualifications:
The following specific qualifications are required:
• O&A Level Certificate of Education or related fields.
• Valid driving permit and Competence Driving Test from Ministry of Works and Transport
• At least 10 years of working experience.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment, audio systems, telephone systems and other office equipment. Contract
• Two years' contract, with Six months probation period, renewable based on agreed performance targets and deliverables.
