About KRC
Kabarole Research and Resource Centre (KRC) is a well-established NGO operating in the Rwenzori Region of Western Uganda. Founded in 1996, with a research mission and a long-term commitment to understanding the measures and drivers of poverty and its solutions. KRC has been working with youths, farmers, women, refugees and local communities in Western Uganda and has accumulated substantial experience through implementation of agribusiness programs based on community priorities that would be most helpful in achieving sustainable and equitable socio-economic development. KRC is in partnership with GOAL UGANDA, Enabel Uganda to implement Youth led projects in the Rwenzori Region. The projects will be under the regional youth business innovation and incubation hub located in the heart of Fort-Portal.
KRC invites applications for employment from suitable, qualified, dynamic and competent Ugandans willing to work with young people in and out of school in the region.

Job Responsibilities
1. Participate in project, Unit and Institutional planning and reflection meetings
2. Conduct mapping/assessment of existing youth groups and identify potential groups to participate in the youth programs.
3. Work closely with TEXFAD trainers to train the youth in Banana stem fibre extraction and handwoven crafts making
4. Provide mentorship support to the trained youth in Extraction of fibre and weaving
5. Support the trained youth in marketing their products within and outside the Rwenzori region
6. Organize youths to participate in trade Fairs
7. Mobilize the youth to benefit from the opportunities at KRC
8. Planning, Reporting and documentation
• Support the youth hub coordinator to prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual plans
• Produce timely and accurate activity, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports
9. Comply with KRC policies for finance, procurement, transport and other policies.
10. Any other roles that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor

Qualifications, skills and experience
1. Candidates must be a holder of a certificate or diploma in any of the following fields of study weaving, handcrafts making, banana stem fibre extraction.
2. Must have a minimum of 1 year working experience or active internship in any of the related fields above with a reputable institution.
3. Willing to work under extreme hardship with limited resources
4. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language and knowledge of the local languages spoken in Rwenzori region.
5. Sound written and oral presentation skills
6. Should have a DIT certificate/workers pass from a recognized institution
7. Must be Youth aged between 18-35
8. Female youth and PWDs are highly encouraged to apply.
