Role Overview

As an Agriculturalist, you will play a crucial role in the cultivation and management of various crops, contributing directly to our production goals. You will work in a supportive and dynamic environment, reporting to the Supervisor, where your analytical and problem-solving skills will be essential in maintaining high standards of crop care and productivity.

Position Details

• Employment Type: Full-time
• Location: On-site in Kampala
• Reporting Structure: Reports to Supervisor
• Start Date: Immediate

Key Responsibilities

1. Sell and deliver plants and flowers to customers.
2. Regulate greenhouse conditions and manage indoor and outdoor irrigation systems.
3. Record information about crops, including pesticide use, yields, and costs.
4. Harvest plants, transplant, pot, and label them.
5. Provide information and advice to the public regarding the selection, purchase, and care of products.
6. Maintain and repair irrigation and climate control systems.

Essential Qualifications

Education Requirements: Post-secondary Diploma in Agriculture or related fields.

Required Experience: No required experience.

Required Skills: Speaking, Operations Monitoring.

Required Language Proficiency: English and Luganda.

Required Technical Knowledge: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Chrome for email and internet browsing.

Preferred Responsibilities:

• Direct and monitor the work of casual and seasonal help during planting and harvesting.
• Feel plants' leaves and note their coloring to detect the presence of insects or disease.
• Harvest fruits and vegetables by hand.
• Set up and operate irrigation equipment. 

Beneficial Experience: Experience in agricultural settings is a plus, but not mandatory.
