Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences; or Social Work and Social Administration; or Economics; or Development Studies; or Information Technology plus a Masters Degree in Economics; or Development Studies; or Information Technology from a recognized University / Institution.
Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of nine (9) years relevant working experience, three (3) of which should have been served at Principal Officer level in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable Organization
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Secretary/Commissioner for performing the following duties:-
- Developing strategies, guidelines and approaches for NGO registration in compliance with national policies, laws and regulations;
- Coordinating the accurate and timely processing, tracking and filing of new applications for registration and renewal of registration certificates;
- Preparing and submitting status and periodic reports on NGO registration to relevant stakeholders;
- Managing the development and periodic review of the department’s strategic plan; Coordinating the development, review and dissemination of operational guidelines and standards for registration of NGOs;
- Designing and conducting regular sensitization programs on NGO registration;
- Providing technical support and guidance to management and stakeholders on NGO registration;
- Developing and reviewing systems for maintaining an up-to-date database of registered NGOs.
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
