JOB DETAILS:
JOB PURPOSE:
• Establish or maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of the community, consumer, employee, or public interest groups;
• Act as the departmental risk champion, anticipate, and identify reputational risk issues and propose appropriate communication actions;
• Coordinate the procurement of all goods and services required by the Department.
• Oversee the preparation of an annual newspaper pull-out on activities of the fund;
• Oversee the regular maintenance and updating of the Fund website.
• Contribute to the drafting and preparation of speeches for the Fund’s management;
• Draft concept notes and proposals for departmental activities and special communication projects.
• Spearhead writing of departmental reports from external stakeholder engagements.
• Proactively identify opportunities for engagements and influence them by current developments that relate to all key stakeholders.
• Plan and manage the internal and external surveys that evaluate the attitudes, opinions, and level of awareness of stakeholders and partners.
• Review draft reports, and press releases for distribution to targeted media;
• Review the daily /routine staff updates in consultation with the Head of Department.
• Contribute to the development and timely review of communications policies and strategy of the Fund.
• Ensure comprehensive media monitoring to gauge public and stakeholder assessment of the Fund’s mandate and the general environment of operation;
• Plan development or communication of the Funds’ programs to maintain favourable public or stakeholder perceptions of the Fund’s accomplishments, agenda, or responsibility;
• Organize public appearances, lectures, contests, or exhibits for clients to increase public awareness and promote the goodwill of the Fund;
• Organize the Fund’s events; parties, promotions, media engagements, exhibitions, and any other outreach programs.
• Confer with production or support personnel to produce or coordinate the production of advertisements or promotions;
• Prepare Departmental budgets, work plans and procurement plans.
• Supervise and manage the performance of staff.
• Perform any other duty as assigned from time to time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE.
• A First Class of Upper Second-Class degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field from a recognized University is essential.
• 8+ years’ experience in a Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related role is essential.
• A Master’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a similar area of study is desirable.
• Experience in managing and executing public awareness across several communications media is desirable.
• Experience in developing content and managing websites and social media platforms is desirable.
