Background
Mazars BRJ is the Uganda integrated firm of Mazars Group (www.mazars.com) and a member of the Mazars East Africa Group (“MEAG”) made up of offices in Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda. Mazars is an international, integrated and independent firm, specializing in audit, accountancy, advisory, tax, and legal services. We assist major international groups, entrepreneurial and small businesses, private investors, and public bodies at every stage of their development. Mazars operates in 90+ countries, worldwide, together with a presence in a further 19 where it has correspondent offices. Mazars BRJ’s offices are located in Bugolobi, a Kampala suburb.

Duties and responsibilities:
The successful candidates will form part of the Firm’s audit and assurance team and will report to the audit managers/partner. The candidate can expect to learn, get involved, be empowered, lead and work on a diversified portfolio of clients and feel first-hand the valid contribution you are making to our client’s operations.

The successful candidate will work on a range of tasks, which may include:
• Carrying out audits of any nature in accordance with the appropriate standards within the required timelines,
• Preparing reports including financial statements in line with International Financial Reporting Standards,
• Leading and co-ordinating audit projects and audit teams,
• Providing feedback to audit assistants on audit work assigned to them,
• Continuously providing on the job training and coaching to develop the technical skills of audit assistants;
• Actively managing client relationships,
• Budgeting and monitoring the financial performance of projects, focusing on optimizing profitability.

• Be able to deliver first-class client service and work effectively as part of a team;
• Demonstrate ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing;
• Have the ability to prioritize own workload;
• Have a high level of commercial awareness and judgment.

Position Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3 - 4 year’s experience in audit or accounting and finance
• Qualification in CPA, ACCA, ACA
• Good technical knowledge of IFRS and ISA
• Good understanding of the audit process, and preparation of financial statements.
• Ability to lead teams in the field and carry out effective performance reviews.
• Competence in project management.
• Proficiency in the use of audit software.
