Background
War on Want Northern Ireland (WOWNl) is an lntematmnal NGO that works in partnership with vulnerable communities in Teso Sup-region. WoWNl with funding from lrish Aid Civil Society Fund is seeking to recruit a very dynamic person.
Position; Business Development and Marketing Officer
Reports to:programme Manager
Overall purpose
1. To support WoWNl partners and farmers develop business and market plans for their enterprises and market linkages.
Specific duties and Responsibilities
• Support the implementation of partner activities in line with the agreed protect framework
• Support the development of market initiatives and marketing plans for beneficiaries farm products
• Support beneficiates understand the value for. money concept
• Document lessons learnt, best practices and experiences in relation to marketing and business development for improved implementation of the project
• Facilitate shared learning among partners on issues relating to business development and marketing of their farm products.
• Participate in development at monitoring and evaluation templates, tools, and compile data on project progress to ensure excellence in MEL
• Compile narrative field, monthly, quarterly and annual reports on the progress of partner Projects. including; outputs, outcomes. lessons learnt/applied, best practices. case studies, challenges and recommendations.
• Conduct M&E visit and reflection meetings with Partners/farmers Support the implementing partners build their capacities to apply participatory methods for monitoring their projects.
• Delivers effective trainings as per partner capacity building plan specifically on farming as a business, post-harvest handling. value addition, and VSLA, marketing and business management.
• Develop strategies for strengthening adoption of knowledge and skills acquired by the partners to ensure implementation of protects and enhance effectiveness.
• Provide monthly feedback to the Programme Manager and partners on project activities and also seek feedback from partners, funders and other stakeholders for analysis.
Minimum requirements
• Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management
• Understanding of me business development and marketing trends in ‘Peso Sub-region
• Understanding of participatory approaches to development
• 3 years experience in the relevant field
• Knowledge of computer application (Ms word and excel)
• English and Ateso fluency
• Possession of a valid adding permit
