JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose:
The purpose of the Graduate Trainee role at Britam Uganda is to develop a pool of talented and high-potential individuals who are equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience to assume future leadership and specialized roles within the organization. This program is designed to provide comprehensive training, mentorship, and hands-on experience across various departments, enabling graduates to understand the company's operations, culture, and strategic goals. Through structured rotations, practical assignments, and continuous learning opportunities, the Graduate Trainee will contribute to Britam's mission of providing innovative and customer-centric insurance and financial solutions while laying the foundation for a successful career within the company.

Key Responsibilities:
Rotational Assignments:
• Participate in structured rotations across different departments, including underwriting, claims, business development, marketing, finance, and customer service.
• Gain practical knowledge and experience by working on real projects and tasks in each department.

Training and Development:
• Attend scheduled training sessions, workshops, and seminars to build technical and soft skills.
• Engage in self-directed learning and seek out additional resources to enhance industry knowledge and professional growth.

Project Involvement:
• Contribute to various departmental projects and initiatives, offering fresh perspectives and innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and meet deadlines.

Mentorship and Coaching:
• Receive guidance and support from assigned mentors and senior leaders within the organization.
• Regularly meet with mentors to discuss progress, challenges, and career aspirations.

Performance Evaluation:
• Participate in regular performance reviews to assess progress and identify areas for improvement.
• Set and achieve performance goals and objectives aligned with the program’s expectations.

Customer Engagement:
• Interact with customers to understand their needs and provide excellent service.
• Develop skills in customer relationship management and contribute to enhancing customer satisfaction.

Innovation and Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within assigned departments.
• Propose and implement innovative ideas that align with Britam's strategic objectives.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required
What will you bring:
• University Degree (Minimum Second Class Upper) in a Business Related Course, Actuarial Science, Economics, Statistics and IT from a recognized University
• Must be below 25 years of age
• Must have completed the undergraduate degree between 2021 and 2024
• Exposure to Microsoft Office Suite
• Problem solving mindset, data-driven with an analytical approach to work
• Effective command of English in written and verbal communication
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Great interpersonal skills
• Comfortable working in a high growth and high-performance environment
• Think on your feet
